The Lions Gate Bridge, officially known as the First Narrows Bridge is a 1,823m long suspension bridge located in West Vancouver, Canada. Construction began in March 1937 with the bridge being opened in November 1938. The name Lions Gate refers to a pair of mountain peaks named The Lions, north of Vancouver. The bridge carries between 60,000 and 70,000 vehicles per day connecting the city of Vancouver with District of North Vancouver.
