Isle of Grain Power Station

The Grain Power Station was built between 1975 and 1979 in a joint venture between Cleveland Bridge, John Laing Construction, N G Bailey, Babcock & Wilock and GEC Turbine Generators Ltd. It is located on the Isle of Grain where the River Medway flows into the Thames Estuary. It’s primarily uses Oil as its fuel source and has the second highest chimney in the UK at 244metres.
