About the project
The George Brown Convention Centre is located on the east side of Downtown Houston, Texas in the United States and was initially opened in 1987.
In 2002, Cleveland Bridge were involved in a renovation project which included the expansion of the centre from 107,000m2 to 167,000m2. This primarily involved the construction of three exhibit halls to significantly increase exhibition space, although the overall works also included the erection of an adjacent 1,200-room convention headquarters hotel. Overall, CBUK fabricated 6,000te of steelwork to create 37,500 m2 of exhibition space.
