About the project
Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors (FCBC) an international consortium consisting of Hochtief Solutions, American Bridge, Dragados & Morrison Construction have recently awarded Darlington engineering company Cleveland Bridge UK Limited a major contract for the fabrication delivery and site assembly of the North and South approach viaduct steelwork as part of the new £790m Forth Replacement Crossing.
The Forth Replacement Crossing is a cable- stayed bridge which is to be constructed to the west of the existing Forth Road Bridge. The project is part of a package of transport improvements costing £1.45 to £1.6 billion and is on track to be delivered in 2016. The largest civil engineering project in Scotland for a generation, it will replace the current Forth Road Bridge as the main vehicle crossing of the Forth.
