Cleveland Bridge UK Ltd gets the go ahead for the supply of 210 Rural Bridges to Sri Lanka.

In September 2011, Cleveland Bridge UK Ltd signed a contract with the Ministry of Economic Development in Sri Lanka to provide up to 210 bridges in rural locations island-wide. The project, worth £ 35m, will be funded by the UK Government’s Export Credit Guarantee Department (ECGD).

Since 2011 we have been working closely with the Ministry of Economic Development, UK ECGD and various banks to secure the funding to enable us to commence with the fabrication of the bridge steelwork.

It has been a lengthy process to secure the funding since the award of the Contract in September 2011 and it is a huge relief that this has been confirmed and that the funding process is finalised so we can move forwards with this challenging project.
