Two Contract Wins for Cleveland Bridge UK

NEWS RELEASE

Following a number of key offshore projects, Cleveland Bridge UK announces that its Darlington fabrication facility has won two new contracts, worth a collective £1,200,000, to produce plate girders for inclusion on the Encana (UK) Ltd Buzzard Field Development.  Located in the Outer Moray Firth, The Buzzard Development Project is one of the most significant discoveries in the North Sea.

The first contract is to fabricate 195 plate girders for Burntisland Fabricators based near Fife in Scotland for inclusion on the Well Head Deck Module.  The second is to fabricate 327 plate girders for Heerema Hartlepool Ltd based in Hartlepool in the north east of England for inclusion on the Utilities Module.

Brian Rogan, Deputy MD commented, “Cleveland Bridge has recently been strengthening its experience in offshore fabrication including work on BP Clair and Bonga Field FPSO for Amec Offshore.   These new projects further illustrate our abilities and offer up to 25,000 man hours of work for the Darlington plant between now and September.  We would hope that the development of this work will lead to more projects in the very near future bringing further consolidation of this area of the business.”

The Buzzard Field is found in the central North Sea, some 100 kilometres northeast of Aberdeen and 55 kilometres from the nearest landfall at Peterhead.
